Mushu update

It's been a week since Mushu has came home! He has been doing so well and he eats a lot! He is now 11 weeks old and eats about twenty crickets a week and has a bowl of carrots a day along with some mealworms. He is very active and loves to be out of his terrarium when I'm home. He is so much fun and so adorable! Although his food does give me a hard time like when his crickets got out of his cricket feeder and into my car! I got most of them out except for one :( anyways I would like to see some of these reptile shows I had seen. But I like in Wichita ks! Do we even have any here?! If you like to see Mushu pictures or me cause me and Mushu are a package deal to be friends with, :) you can snapchat me at melanie122312. I'll keep you updated with Mushu!

Hi. He sounds cute :D . Is that all he'll eat is 20 crickes a week? He needs to be fed 2x to 3x aday for 10 mins. Mealworms are not really good as they are hard for them to digest. Better feeders are dubia roaches, Phoenix worms, silk worms and butter worms. Also carrots are ok but he needs greens like collard, mustard, turnip. Here is a site that color codes on what to feed beautifuldragons.com.

I try and feed him more veggies then crickets and mealworms since he's suppose to eat more veggies. I'm having such trouble keeping the crickets alive for the next day. I bought a cricket keeper thinking it would solve the problem and keep them from not suffocating. But right when I buy them they start to die off! That's why I only buy twenty crickets a week because they die so quickly. Any tips to keep them alive through out the week?

At 11 weeks he should be eating almost all crickets/bugs to get protein to support growth spurts. Offer him as many crickets as he wants to eat within a 10-15 minute window twice a day. His appetite will vary but I've read about young dragons taking out upwards of 75 crickets per day. If he eats his veges, that's great. I'd limit veges to 20% of the diet at this point though. He will become more (approx 80%) vegetarian out at around 12-18 months old when he's fully grown. It's best to buy the crickets in bulk online (I used to go with 1,000 at a time) and store them in a big rubbermaid tote bin with a screen/vented lid. They can live in cardboard tubes stacked up and you can feed them vegetable scraps and/or one of the grain based diets the breeders sell. I offered water crystals as well but you could use a moist sponge to give them hydration. I've found that dubia roaches are much easier to care for if you can get them. They are more expensive up front but you can get a big order and start a colony. They will become self sustaining after a few months if they're provided with heat and food.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
