For a few days now, I've been noticing a little twitch on Norbert. It's in a tiny spot on the right side of the base of her tail, and a little bit of the back of her thigh where it meets her tail. It seems to be triggered by me touching her back legs (something she's never had a problem with, and there's no voluntary movement suggesting pain when I do it now), but also sometimes happens when she's just sitting there not being touched. She's not showing any other signs of illness, pain, or injury--eating and moving normally, etc. She hasn't eaten any unusually large bugs or other things she shouldn't. She is on slate tiles, so ingesting substrate is not a concern.
I've heard that twitching in the extremities can be a sign of MBD, but this is closer in on her body than I thought that was. Also, I change her UV bulb (Reptisun 10.0 UVB, 24 inch, mounted inside the tank) every six months and lightly dust her greens with calcium twice a week. She is almost four years old and had a lot of health problems early in life, but has been healthy since they took the tumor off her liver a year and a half ago. Her last visit to the reptile vet was in October and her blood test showed good levels of everything, according to the vet.
I'm trying to figure out if this is something I should call the vet about, or if it's just a harmless idiosyncratic thing. Does anyone have experience with this? I took a video of the twitch, but I don't think we can upload videos on here (correct me if I'm wrong).
