Multiple Infertile Layings

I have had my bearded dragon Swarley for two years… and she has never been around another dragon. At about eight months old, she laid her first batch of infertile eggs. After doing research, I realize this is normal and that once they lay infertile eggs, they r done. Apparently that's not the case for Swarley… Within the past six months, she has laid 4 more sets of infertile eggs! Twice within the same month even! Every time I noticed her restless in her cage comment starting to dig (as she is again at this very moment) I think..., no way not again! And of course within about two days I'll wake up to discover about 15-20 yellow infertile eggs. Has anyone else had experience with this??? It seems like a lot for her little body!

Hi there, I bet it was quite a surprise for you to find, 1, then 2, then a 3rd clutch, and so on . :) It is actually normal....as a matter of fact b.d.'s rarely lay only one clutch. All of my females I've owned have laid at least 3 clutches in a season, I can't remember ever seeing one of mine lay only one. The average time between clutches is about 3 weeks. So....it's perfectly normal. Just keep her well fed [ it's imperative ! ] make sure the temps. are optimal [ basking spot at 100 -105 ] and with proper calcium supplementation.

wow thank you for the great reply! of all the sites i've visited to research this, you are the first to say you've had experience with multiple infertile layings. i am definitely reassured. what's funny is when i first adopted Swarley i was told by the petstore that she was a male beardie ....it wasn't until the first time she laid eggs that i realized i was told wrong information. little did i know what i was in for!

Hi, I came home yesterday to find my girl laying clutch #3 since February. She's my first and only dragon and is 3 1/2 yrs old. I did not expect the first one, did expect the second because then I started learning more and did not expect yesterday's! As of this morning it was up to 15. Typically they are 20+. Now I'm trying to find out if this just could go on all year??? or is there a season to it? I hope so because it's nevewracking worrying about whether she'll expel them all or get egg bound.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
