With my last beardie who was full grown when this happend, when i was holding food in my hand like a worm, he knew i had food but couldnt find it on my hand. innocently he tried to grab my finger with his tongue which obviously caused no pain, but then after a couple failed attempts he just went for it and chomped down with his jaws on my finger. Not people say that it does not hurt, but man this really hurt. he kinda chomped down and tried to detach my finger. after about 3 seconds of pulling he finally gave up.
With my new baby beardie (about 4 months) she does the same thing. she knows i have food but cant find it on my hand, and she thinking the tip of my finger is a worm or something.
What im getting at here is i've noticed that beardies rely heavily on movement to find their food. like when Lola is on the hunt for crickets she see's it and goes towards it but then the cricket stops moving and she cant find it, even when its 2 inched from her face. this same thing happend with my older beardie. I think dusting the crickets does not help either because it makes them whiter, which is the color of the ground.
Anybody else notice how dependent beardie's are to movement?
