ok, so my room is the basement and so was my beardie tank. just moved it upstairs and the sun comes right in on the tank. im thinking it'll get way to hot just like one big basking spot. i dont no if i should lower it below the window.or just bring it back downstairs.

I'd be careful not to cook your beardie. You would get the 'greenhouse effect'.
Is it a glass viv?

Not too long ago I came across a video on You-Tube that showed a kid really upset about his beardie. Apparantly, he left his space heater in his room (fairly close to the viv) and came back to a very unfortunate scene.

The temperatures exceeded what they should be and the poor thing cooked to death.

If you get direct sunlight coming through the window, I wouldn't advise it. If it is northern light, then it shouldn't harm it, but I would monitor the viv for a while to confirm that the temps aren't exceeding 105-110 F.

When I had mine by a window I had blinds over it. But I moved it across the room dued to Michigan is cold in the winter and my windows are not sealed. So I would either put blinds over it, or move it. Depending if you live where winters are cold, I would not put it in the basement unless your sure it is warm. And it could be expensive to keep it warm.

Great question

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
