Mouth rot?

Maybe I'm just in a panic-over-everything mood after a freak accident left my crestie a possible-paraplegic.

But while she was gaping this morning (under her UTH, before I turned on her lamps) I noticed this white substance around her teeth (on both sides of her mouth) so I jumped to conclusions, and want your opinions on what this is, and god forbid, is it mouth rot?

Hi there....I'm sorry to hear about your poor little crestie. I hope it can live a pain free life....if at all . :(

As for your beardie, I can't really tell if that's just build up from food or not. I don't think it's mouth rot, but if you Google " Melissa Kaplan mouthrot " there will be a lot of info about it, it may be very helpful.

Thank you, and don't worry, my crestie seems indifferent to his change in lifestyle- even seems that he'll have use of his legs again soon. No actual breaks in his bones, just bruising- deep, painful brusing, but nothing that won't heal soon.

In fact, he voiced his displeasure today by cocking his leg up and pooping in my hand, so there's that... xD

I'm glad to hear that your crestie seems to be doing better today.

I was wondering what you feed your bearded dragon. I am not a vet, or any kind of specialist so this is just speculation but the white buildup look like it might be plaque/tartar, or possibly a buildup from chewing up some type of feeder insect (some of them have whitish insides.)

She eats calcium spinkled/dusted collard greens, mustard greens, crickets, superworms (as a treat every two weeks or so), and the occasional waxworm.
and a few days ago, snatched up and tried to make a meal of my crestie, hence his traumatic accident.

It is starting to look very much like random buildup.

she seems to have left some of the residue on my crestie's leg, even.

Poor poor little crestie :-( i hope he continues to improve.

I wonder if there is something your can add to your beardie's diet that will help reduce the buildup. Maybe there is a vegetable or fruit or something that is healthy and can scrub a little as it is being chewed.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
