Mouth issues

Hey guys! I haven't posted for awhile. I have been quite busy, Puff is shedding and he ate a piece of his skin (He had already scratched it off) and is while he was eating a weird sound (Kinda popping sounding, and almost a sucking sound) Anyways I have never heard this sound, could is be because the skin was hard to slip down his throat. He ate his veggies and I didn't hear this sound.

I can't afford to go the vet. It doesn't sound really bad.. If I do check his mouth, what should I look for?
