Mouth breathing

Kirby is now Kirbi :love5: We had a hunch & called out "Kirbina' & other fem names.
I noticed mouth breathing about 3 weeks ago. The vet on saturday prescribed Ceftazidime 100mg/ml. For at home injections under the scales on front arms every 48 hrs.. The culture test was over $600 :shock: to pinpoint her ailment. I was otd for $88.82 w/ 11 frozen syringes and the training to use them.

...Kirbs is eating/pooping daily (poops in bath). She won't eat crix anymore only superworms & waxworms as treats. Greens are collard, dandelions, mustard, turnip, destung stinging nettle, prickly pear, a little kale, cilantro very little if any yellow squash. I raised nighttime temps to 77-82 from 66-69. Daytime is 103-107. I've been giving her raw local honey forcefully at 1st. Now it mixed with grape seed extract, echinacea angustifolia powder, calc, vit,probiotic acidophilus & oj to thin it back to honey consistency then on superworms. The Dr. said she looks healthy otherwise. I hope everything turns out ok, she been listless all day.

Wow, I'm sorry that you have such a huge bill to pay, and I certainly hope they diagnosed it properly. Mostly, I hope your dragon recovers and doesn't have any other problems. Sometimes when a respiratory infection just starts, it can be cured just by raising the temps. at night to 80 degrees and making sure the day temps. are about 105. Hope you have success with the treatment !

Oh sorry I didn't state it properly, I declined the $600+ culture test. I went with the $88 broad spectrum Ceftazidime shots. LLL reptile recommended this Vet. & gave me a $25 off 1st visit coupon it was $113. I'll administer the 2nd shot after work today (My 1st :shock: !) I didn't have the heart to give her a 6am rude awakening shot.
