Mounting UV light

Currently, my UV light fixture sits on top of the screen but it's come to my attention that the screen filters out some of the UV rays. Now, I'm faced with the dilemma of trying to mount the light inside the tank. However, the fixture is built in such a way that if I try to mount it right side up against the glass, the switch will collide with the glass, and it'll only cover a small area of the tank floor. And if I mount it facing to the side, the light won't hit Itchy at all.

I kind of want to find a fixture that exposes the bulb completely, so that the light hits most of the ground space, but I'm not sure where to look. I tried Canadian Tire, but that's all I've tried so far. Any ideas, fellow beardie enthusiasts?

Try a hardware store and look for "under the counter lighting fixtures". I'm not sure what you have in Canada, but if you've been invaded by WAL*MART, they typically have them for $9.

That's the fixture I got for $9, and it is affixed to the inside of the tank with heavy-duty velcro, just to give you an idea. Since then, his tank has had some changes.

They have them at ron a for 12 bucks for an 18 inch. I have a 40gal and wish I had of went 24.

I attached it using twist ties and put two small holes in the plastic with a screw. I can take a pic if you would like.
