I am moving my beardie to a larger tank (it's about 2.5x larger) and have gotten a longer UVB fixture [and bulb] along with another heat light (lower wattage) to heat the cage evenly when it starts to get cold again...
My question is what's the best way to mount the UVB fixture in the tank? It wont sit on the rim of the tank safely and there might not be a screen cover on the tank as I'm still debating whether it's necessary since I don't get bugs flying around the house all the time. It's literally just a hood fixture that would normally sit on top of the tank, but I wanted to mount it inside but do so safely. I heard about this acrylic foam tape (VHB tape by 3M) that is supposedly the strongest tape in the world, but I'm curious if anyone has any other ideas?
I really just don't want the fixture falling in the tank and shattering the bulb and hurting my beardie, but a screen cover with such a large tank will just filter out too much of the UVB.
