More Veggies, Less Worms?

Haku is about 7 months (and closing in on 15 inches) now and I've noticed that recently he's started eating at least an entire bowl of veggies a day (more if I'm home to refill it), whereas before he'd only pick at them occasionally. I know eventually his diet will become about 80% veggies and 20% insects. So is this him telling me he's ready to start the process?

He currently gets his worms twice a day and then I leave a bowl of salad in his tank for whenever he wants to snack on it. Should I start thinking about cutting it down to one insect meal per day? I was planning on cutting down when he got to a year old but since his veggie intake has consistently skyrocketed lately I wasn't sure if I should start early or if this is just him eating more.

Is he also eating all the worms you offer? If he is, then keep offering them along with more salad. He is a little young yet to drastically lower his bug intake unless he is doing it himself.

He generally ignores his second insect meal, except for maybe one or two worms, and then eats his salad when he gets back in his tank. But he eats all of his breakfast without fail. So maybe I should think about condensing it into one larger helping of insects?

He currently has his first live feed of the day at 11am (having had his salad refreshed earlier that morning) and then he gets his second and last live feed at around 6-7pm. If he keeps basically refusing his dinner, should I think about giving him one live feed per day in the late morning?

He's been doing this for a while and he hasn't been losing any weight or energy. In fact, he seems quite healthy and active.

He is probably saying it's time to start transitioning but it's usually a gradual process. Give him plenty of salad every day (as much as he feels like eating if it's a well balanced salad). But I agree that he's still a bit young to cut back on bugs too much. If he's ignoring the second bug meal, stick with one bug meal per day for a while and then gradually move to every other day then every third day or so while keeping up with daily salads.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
