More fiesty = healthier or unhappy

We've only had Katie about two weeks. She's 18 months old. When we first got her, she was so calm and sweet and would just sit there when we held her. The people we adopted her from gave us her UV light and said it had "just" blown out - so I realized when I went to the pet store that it should've been replaced LONG before it actually blew out...no telling how long she didn't have effective UV...I don't know if that has to do with anything or not but now she seems so much more active or even fiesty now than she did at first. When we take her out of her tank she seems to be trying to get away...depending on how and where we hold her she may be more content or more intent on trying to get away. I think she tries to get away where she can see shadows or things to hide in. Outside or when we're standing or in a wide open room, she doesn't try to squirm. Now she's digging in the corner of her tank. I know a lot of their behavior is just a mystery, plus we're still getting to know her, but is she just feeling better and more healthy with her light or something...or is it that she's getting more attention than she's used to? I have to admit, sometimes I wonder if she just doesn't like us or me (she does seem more content with my daughter than with me). We just can't quite figure her out.

Good to hear your beardie is doig better (more fiesty)
If the uvb bulb had blown out there is no telling how long
this beardie went without proper uvb .This is probably the reason
you are seeing such a mood swing,
Sounds like the original owners of this beardie didn't take very good care of him,
GOOD for him he now has beardie parents that care.
Have you taken him to vet for fecal yet?
This time of year some beardies that age are ready to brumate and the scratching
may be a sign he is ready to brumate,
Get s fecal done and if all is well and if in fact he is trying to brumate you
will be at peace knowing that your beardie is healthy.
Fatboy decided to brumate at 18 months old and the first time he
did it it totally freaked me out .Took him to vet to have him checked
out and vet said he was fine and probably trying to brumate.
He slept under his rocks from november until march,
i would wake him every 2 weeks give him a bath and a couple of
superworms he would bask for about 1 hr and back to sleep he would
go for the next 2 weeks,

I think they tried to take good care of her. If she's trying to brumate, does she need something she can crawl up under to hide? She only has the one driftwood in her tank now that she gets up on top of to bask. She needs a bigger tank. We were trying not to change anything drastically on her in addition to the move here and to a new family...but we do want a bigger tank with more in it - now it's just her food and that one driftwood.

Here i was call her a him LOL
What i did was made a cave with a space just wide enough for him to crawl into.
I had some flat pavestone rocks and just stacked them to make a cave under the heat bulb
he would squeeze between the rocks and fall to sleep
Having a tight fit makes them feel secure while brumating.
Just make sure to have a fecal done to rule out parasites before allowing
her to go to sleep
