Hey everyone, I am brand new to this site and thought I would share a fun story about my three year old bearded dragon, Mojo. I recently bought Mojo this big hunk of drift wood to put in his basking area. Before the drift wood I just stacked up some bricks which didn't look very good and Mojo didn't seem very impressed. Anyways, he loooooves this new basking perch and prefers it over the rock next to it big time. He will spend a lot of time just climbing through all of the different branches and he will just sit on top of it watching everything that happens in the room. Every morning I put fresh veggies and meal worms in his tank and he munches on them pretty well. Well today I went in to check on him and I noticed that he knocked all of the food out of his dish and it was scattered all around the tank. I scooped everything back up and put it all in the dish. I came back a few minutes late with some water and he knocked everything out again! I filled it back up again but this time I sat and watched him. He climbed off his perch and slowly (almost stalkingly) approached his dish and proceeded to tear everything out of it and then sprinted up to his perch. He then stood there with his body raised and just watched the floor of his tank. All of a sudden he bolted off the perch and he ate a meal worm that I didn't even see and then sprinted back up to the perch. He did this a few times before I realized that he was emptying his bowl so he could find all the meal worms first hahaha I started cracking up as I watched him sprint down, eat a worm, and then back up. There was one time where he saw a worm but it stopped crawling so Mojo climbed down to a lower branch and put his eye right up to it. It didn't move so he nudged it with his nose and it started crawling and he ate it! Hahaha it was so awesome, funny, and amazing to see how smart he has become at using his environment. I love him to death!
