Missing portion of lower, right jawbone.

This is Odahviing, two year old female central bearded dragon.

I found that she had slight swelling, a small, soft bump against her right, forward, inside jaw and is missing the portion of her right, lower jawbone as shown in the photograph.

Has anybody seen anything like this even remotely before?

She'll be seeing the vet ASAP. I just found it so strange.

I'm trying to see it as you described....have you looked at it straight on ? Is it different from the other side ? A beardie's jawline recedes right in the front of the mouth so it looks like part of it is missing from different angles. Could It just be the angle you're looking at it ?

And is the bump inside her mouth ? Are you sure that's what it is ? May be just part of her chubbiness ? [ No insult intended ! ]

The bump is unilateral and is a defined "growth". Also, the jaw is unilateral and doesn't swoop down to end like the other side does.

Aw, I hope it isn't anything serious. I know you're already concerned with her health. Try not to think the worst....still could be something completely harmless but if you have a really good vet, have them give a look.

Yeah, my baby can't catch a break. I got some looks into gaping mouths, and it's definitely wrong shaped. How it happened is a question.
