Miss my old Beardie

So I made a post a few weeks ago about upgrading Mushu’s viv and how I feel he absolutely hates it - a couple people responded about how it could be relocation stress - makes perfect sense. On top of that I believe he’s going through puberty and I know they can get a little nutty. He just been acting very different these past few weeks i.e. never wanting to be in his viv, constantly head bobbing(quickly too), beard almost always black, constantly running - climbing attempting suicide jumps like now when he just tried to jump off my bed on to my dresser an missed, scratching at my bedroom door (like he wants out - I also have two cat that’s why I usually just have him in my bedroom) he’s also been starting to poop with blood at first it was very small amounts so I thought maybe due to constipation but last night was a bit more an bright bright red. We have an appointment with a vet tomorrow. Moral of the story I miss my old easy going - cuddly Mushu now he seems to want nothing to do with me and him acting like this has my anxiety going I really hope he goes back to his old self soon.

Sounds like hormones-- and adjusting to new tank--- but the blood - can you post a pic of the poop w/ the blood in it?

Yes I will once he poops again - I really should have taken a picture of it last night- just wasn’t thinking (face to palm)

Hi there,

When he poos, is the blood you are seeing coming out in liquid form, or is it just that the urate is colored red/orange?

If so, that is quite common, especially if you are feeding crickets that eat those cricket cubes, or are over dusting at your feedings.

Update! Mushu had a poop last night (small) with no blood. I was unable to make it to the vets this morning but I called with his update an told the Receptionist I would book another appt sometime this week - I work odd hours. This morning he had another poop was larger than last nights and there was blood not in his poop but a drop of some on his log..

He is on Exo Terras sand carpet worst mistake never will I buy again he’s only had it for about a week but has been pooping small amounts of blood on an off maybe about a week & half now.. we are switching to tile Wed (waiting on my amazon order) I know he needs to see a vet because I don’t think this is normal was holding off a bit because his quote was around $300CAD and the blood was not consistent and at first was very small amounts mixed in with his poop but the other day an this morning is small drops.

Ok so when you get the tile cut it to size of tank w/ a tile cutter if needed- do not grout or glue- you want to be able to pull tile to clean - use some thick shop paper towels under the tile that will catch the runny urate- and all you haft do is pull paper towel and replace w/ a new one and clean tile w/ vinegar/ water 50/50 in a spray bottle- I don't know what would be causing the blood- they need to do an x-ray to see if he's injested something -- has he fallen ?

Yes we have the spray bottle with vinegar solution would you suggest I do a stool sample or go straight to the X-ray? I can’t afford both at the moment an the $300 quote would be for 1. Meeting him & doing a general check up 2. For stool sample & 3. For medication for pesticides he has not fallen from a great height just off the side of my bed - he runs down the blankets about half way than jumps but my bed is also very low to the floor and he’s been doing this since a baby.

He's been on meds for pesticides? And when did the bloody stools start? Take a sample in so the vet can look at it-- if this started after meds I am guessing this is the cause but I am not a vet either
