hi there, i'm new here
i'm wanting to get a beardie but the alcove in my lounge will only fit a 32"x22" tank/enclosure. is this too small for a beardie even if it was to be let out for a run/stretch every evening?
i've wanted a lizard for years but when i saw these little fellas roaming around their tank in a pet shop i fell in love and am now in a position to have one (apart from limited space)

32x22 would be the floor space, the height wouldn't be a problem
i've heard of owners using 36x24 enclosures and imahined this would be the minimum

alright well your pretty much good on the 22" part of it but 32" is a little short. most people, including me, advise 48" for length.
is there any other part of your house you can throw a bigger cage in? if you absolutely have to use that space tho maybe look into leopard geckos or something, or use it for a baby bearded dragon then move it elsewhere when it gets to be an adult

you can look into getting the rankin bearded dragon or the 'dwarf beardie'. i know there hard to come by around here but if you live in the u.s. it wouldnt be very hard to find.

looks like i'll have to wait until we get round to converting the dining room before i get my beardie, don't really want a smaller lizard but at the same time i want it to have a good home.
Thanks for all the advice and i'm sure to chat to most of you sooner or later, probably later due to the speed that my home developments are coming on!

how old are they going to be? if they are 2 or 3 or maybe even 4 months that would be fine.

my little 2 month old has a 30"x12" tank. and he's perfectly content. gives him room to bask and poop and eat salad and try to escape :D

the little fellas that i've seen are about 6or7 inch long, don't exactly know how old they are. sure they'd be fine in a smaller tank but i've heard that they grow fairly quickly and don't really want to be buying more tanks/set up stuff 6 months down the line.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
