MegaRay 100W or 160W?

My tank is a 40 gallon breeder, 36" x 18" x 16".

Im not sure if the 100W will produce the heat required or if the 160W would be a better option?

Also, once I get it, should I let it burn off the fumes over night and then use it in the enclosure or do the fumes not matter?

is all about your ambient room temperature i'm having problems with my basking temps i have a megaray 100 watt and my ambient room temp is above 75 degs.I got a typical crossfire design 40"l x 21"h x 24"w i'm now in the process of getting a reptisun 10 you should look into your ambient room temps where your setup will be at and your current weather condition if you live in a run down apt building with no heat in the winter. hope this helps.

I have 40 gallon breeders and I use the 100w and it does good with heat! Also you need the light to burn in for 2-3 days. The temps fluctuate in that period. Good luck..

Why are you getting a reptisun?
Isnt the purpuse of the MegaRay to be an all-in-one kind of thing?

because my room temps are to high for a mega ray it was a constant battle maintaining the right temps. with th reptisun and a rgular house bright white producing light bulb I could better control th cage temp. Im just sharing my exp with the mega ray setup. your room temps plays a hugh role i found that th hard way. hope all goes well for you.
