Mega ray help?!?

I just tried them out for the first time and I am unhappy... I ordered two 100 watt bulbs and a heat gun. I got ONE bulb and the heat gun, no manual or information in either the shipping box or the box for the bulb... Nothing but a UPS sticker. I think it is the wrong bulb too, it says 230 volts and my largest dome only takes 120 volts :-(

I tried calling to find out what the deal was, and they said the computer is down and they will call me back sometime. I have two beardies that have not had UVB light in a week now because I've been waiting for the bulbs. I'm beyond irritated. Hopefully the calcium w/d3 powder will be fine for now.

In the meantime.. Is the bulb I have the wrong bulb??? It says 100 watt wide beam. Mega-Ray Solar Raptor. 230 V. I have a feeling it will be a very bad idea putting it in one of my 120 v domes....

I know for a FACT I ordered the USA 120 v 100 watt self ballasted. I went over it a few times before ordering it, I also know I had TWO bulbs in my order because they charged me $143 for everything. The heat gun was only $30.

Anyone have any experience with their customer service?

Reptile UV has gone to ****. Avoid them like the plague. Sorry for your troubles, but my best suggestion is to request a return and get another product. The bulbs they are selling now have proven to be very unreliable...they fail early and often. The sticky at the top of this forum has plenty of anecdotes about their recent decline in service. Honestly, its not the same company it was 2yrs ago...a lot has changed.

I just looked at the most recent comments. I should have looked before ordering but the thread was started awhile ago and I read it last year, I figured by now the problem would have been resolved and mega ray would still be the #1 MVB.

I really don't want to convert to tube lights, The way I have everything set up... I have like 8 tanks with domes, and then a rack system with basking lights/tubes. I would need to purchase 8 tube fixtures and then 8 tube bulbs.. I'm guessing around $300-$400 to do this? I like the t-rex bulb, but they are sold out most of the places I buy online!

On top of it all, I have been having terrible issues with regular basking bulbs. I have had 4-5 burn out the last two months and I think three of the replacements were complete junk....

Some members are reporting decent success with other MVB's. So just look around for the T-Rex or the Powersun. Personally, I'd go tubes...but I completely understand why that is cost prohibitive for you. Hopefully the industry gets itself sorted out and starts producing decent MVB's again!

That company is bogus and you look for a uvb bulb that can stand up to The sun but honestly there bulbs are overrated. Zoomeds ok but i still look for a alternative. Nothing will be like the sun for reptiles period.
