Smurf's not blue, but I guess that's what happens when you let your little sister name your pet.
Anyway Smurf and I are new to this site. In fact I'm new to the reptile world. Luckily my neighbor loves reptiles and had some good advice for me. He owns 27 ball pythons  as well as two beardies, and two Umastix (probably spelled wrong.)
Back to Smurf...
I've had my beardie for 4 days now, and I'm loving it.
When I heard they had great personality I never would have imagined how true it is!
Smurf is almost 8 inches long, including tail. Could someone give me an age estimate? The store I got him from took good care of all their animals. The enclosure Smurf was in was made up of one clutch of eggs that they had gotten 2 days before. Smurf looks perfectly healthy (Smurf was the biggest, almost pudgy), and is always eager to chase a cricket.
The tank Smurf is currently occupying is 12" by 24" by 20" high. We will be upgrading as soon as Smurf is ready.
The lighting consists of a 75 watt day bulb for heat and a 26 watt bulb for UVB. I also dust the crickets with calcium/d3 powder every other meal.
Smurf has not had a vet appointment, but has one for later today. Wish us luck!
