She was advertised as a healthy 3 year old bearded with a full setup.
The bad:
She has been housed in filth with live and dead feeders everywhere. Her previous owner would dump 40 large crickets in her enclosure a few times a month and offer kale every few days.? Her lights were not plugged in! She had a heat lamp and two coil uvbs. Her enclosure was caked in old poo and it smelled terrible. She looked small and underweight but I could not leave her in such crappy conditions. Knowing full well she could have medical problems I scooped her up and brought her home.
The good:
She is a sweat heart. I brought her home and the first day I did nothing because I didn't want to stress her out any further. Day 2 I took her enclosure apart and scrubbed/sanitized every inch. I also went shopping and got her some feeders and greens. A couple of weeks later I took her in for a check up.(200$ later) She had an eye infection due to old shed we got an eye flush and antibiotic drops. She is grossly underweight but otherwise healthy. No mbd or parasites. She is a scant 16 inches from snout to the tip of her tail and weighed 195g. Vet wants to see her at least 300g.
Since then I have gotten her a long tube uvb light. It is on top of the screen but I cut out that section so it is unobstructed. She h as a basking temp of 100ish down to 75 on the cool side. Her diet is pretty good. She gets greens(mustard collard...) and several times a week we supplement her greens with squash, peas, sweet peppers.... Her feeders are dusted(calcium 5x week vits 2x) crickets(primary) and superworms(secondary). We go through 100 medium crickets a week plus supers. I know that's a lot of protein but we are trying to put on wieght. She poops everyday and gets regular baths. She gets lots of supervised exploration and she gets natural sunlight each afternoon(whenever it's sunny). She is housed in a 40 gallon breeder, I think. It's an exoterra with the double doors on front. She is on reptile carpet soon to be switched out for ceramic tiles. She has an appropriated sized hide with blanket of course :wink: big log for climbing/basking and various decorations.
Still have a long list of things I want for her but $$$$. Baby Steps.
If you made it this far thanks. I know I need to still do some tweaking but am I missing anything major. I will post pics whenever I figure that out.
