Reptar and I are new to the forum. I took him in off of Craigslist in August. The people I got him from told me that he was ten weeks old at the time, but, based on his size, I think they may have either lied to me or they were not feeding him well enough and he was a bit stunted. He was roughly an inch and a half at the time. He also lost his tail to one of his hungry siblings. This was him then:

I discovered Reptar was having seizures. After some research I discovered he probably had a calcium deficiency. I mixed water and a powder supplement in a syringe to boost him and fed it to him. I also dusted his food. I varied his diet to include berries, sweet potato, kale, crickets, and meal worms. He perked back up. This is him in September after he was treated and his seizures stopped:

I added wax worms sparingly this month. Reptar is my first and only reptile, and I am trying to do my best by him! This month he has started to show this beautiful olive green color with streaks of black and bright orange. He really enjoys sitting outside with the dogs and myself to get a bit of natural sun. He has grown quite a bit and is fat, happy and active. I believe he is showing more signs of being a boy, but I'm not totally sure. Any way, this is him now:

Hello,

That is a beautiful dragon and it definitely seems to be handling the lack of tail much very well. You will see from my other posts that I love darker dragons, so Reptar is top notch in my book. You'll find a great community here. Feel free to ask any question, but still prepare to make a decision based on different opinions. Anyway, Reptar is growing great and keep the pics coming cause not many others have the darker dragons. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome :D Reptar is cute tail or not. FYI I would remove him from the sand substrate.
Anyways great job nursing him back to health. And another kudos for getting a dragon with most of his tail missing, if it would have been in a pet store setting he would most likely be last one to go, or not at all. All in all pretty admirable of you. :D

I love! :love10: that Reptar has such a wonderful new home! I'm such a sap for happy endings. I'd say he's in good hands, and looks thankful for it.

Thank you everyone! I'm so happy to have him. I didn't know what he looked like until I picked him up, and I was instantly in love with the poor little guy. I'm a sucker for underdog animals. I'm glad you guys think I'm doing a good job. Like I said before, I have never had a reptile before him.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
