Reptar and I are new to the forum. I took him in off of Craigslist in August. The people I got him from told me that he was ten weeks old at the time, but, based on his size, I think they may have either lied to me or they were not feeding him well enough and he was a bit stunted. He was roughly an inch and a half at the time. He also lost his tail to one of his hungry siblings. This was him then:
I discovered Reptar was having seizures. After some research I discovered he probably had a calcium deficiency. I mixed water and a powder supplement in a syringe to boost him and fed it to him. I also dusted his food. I varied his diet to include berries, sweet potato, kale, crickets, and meal worms. He perked back up. This is him in September after he was treated and his seizures stopped:
I added wax worms sparingly this month. Reptar is my first and only reptile, and I am trying to do my best by him! This month he has started to show this beautiful olive green color with streaks of black and bright orange. He really enjoys sitting outside with the dogs and myself to get a bit of natural sun. He has grown quite a bit and is fat, happy and active. I believe he is showing more signs of being a boy, but I'm not totally sure. Any way, this is him now:
Any way, we are glad to be part of the community here. This site has some awesome information, and I use it often!
