Hi!!! I’m Kali, and I’ve recently adopted a little beardie named Remy that I’m ecstatic to be able to share!!!
A little background is that I’ve actually lurked on here on different threads without an account for ages tbh I grew up with tons of leopard geckos and reptiles in my household and my aunt actually had a bearded dragon I quite literally grew up with that passed a few years ago after a very full 12 years of life.
Remy came from Petco on impulsive instincts to scoop her up as soon as I saw her while getting some food for our other animals. We are fairly positive she’s a she, but we’ve used Remy as a unisex nickname just in case (short for Ramona or Remington, which ever he/she is if we’ve gotten it wrong)
She’s currently free range as of a few nights ago and on a diet of phoenix worms/dusted crickets and a mix of fruits/veggies bc we’re trying to see if she has a preference, and she has a reptisun 10.0 tube and a basking temp of 108° below her lights setup in our room.
(she was in a 10g but was absolutely dreadful in it mood wise, and we needed to improvise with my girlfriend and I renting our first apartment last month and figuring out Remy’s budget for her first actual enclosure after making sure she had the correct bulbs and lights to reach the correct temps and good nutrients as first priority, but we’re finally getting a 55g this weekend to divide and open up as she grows) She also goes to the bathroom 1-2 times a day and has healthy looking movements and urates.
She was the ittiest bittiest thing, but has thankfully grown a little and just finished off a tail/head shed landing her a tad under 7” as of this week, hopefully at 7” when I measure tonight. She had barely hit 6” when we’d gotten her in the beginning of the month and is a tad skinnier than we’d like atm but with her shedding she hasn’t been eating at her usual pace, so hopefully once she’s feeling better she’ll gain her little buddha belly back.
I’m currently on disability for a number of mental health reasons including Borderline Personality, severe anxiety, and severe depression, so she’s a bonus support animal to keep me productive and motivated as well as her siblings during our day to day. (My gf and I have 2 dogs I rescued a few years ago and a kitten we’ve recently rescued with us in our apartment that are all supervised when around her, of course, and all seem to be adjusting together well excluding the kitten’s curiosity of her tail that we make sure he can’t get) But that means that she gets tons of natural sunlight when she comes with me on my shirt for walks and adventures around our apartment complex with our pups daily in the sun and also that I’m hoping to make a few friends on here as I’m not too social day to day aside from all my rescues.
I’m only so limited in experience as I had help from adults growing up with reptiles, and I’m also fairly young at 19, and my girlfriend is only 20 with no reptile experience whatsoever, so any bonus advice is more than welcome to make sure Remy is healthy and happy with us!!!! she’s not used having reptiles around while I haven’t personally owned one in a few years, so any bonus advice is more than welcome to make sure Remy is healthy and happy under our care!!!!
And now pictures!!!!
I’m Kali, and my girlfriend, Lauren, is the blonde beside me:

Everything seems pretty good! However, baby beardies can get stressed with too big of spaces. So I would move her into the new tank as fast as possible because it will be safer for her as well. When beardies get stressed, they actually develop dark lines on their stomach that kind of look like cheetah spots. I noticed this in some of your pictures, but it’s not unusual for a lizard that just got a new home to have them as the stress can be caused by many different things.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
