I began my journey as a bearded dragon lover about 3.5 months ago when a friend of mine, who's a breeder, offered me one of her babies. Up until that point I had never owned a lizard or any reptile of any kind for that matter. Quite frankly, I was always a little timid about reps. But as soon as I saw their tiny little heads I was hooked.

At first, I was really nervous. Seeing as I had never cared for any kind of reptile before, I was completely in the dark. So weeks before I could take her home I started doing all kinds of research. I searched the internet for hours trying to learn everything about them so I could be completely prepared for the day I got to bring her home. In fact, I think I scared my bf a little by the amount of time I spent staring at the screen, reading forum after forum.

Flash forward 3.5 months and here I am. And here she is, our little Perdita. For those of you who know the movie 101 Dalmatians, you would know that Perdita is the name of the mama dog. However, this isn't why I gave my beardie the name.

At first I didn't know what to name her, so out of habit, I started addressing her as "pretty girl". After a while it stuck, only I felt bad for not having an "official" name. Then like a lightening bolt, it struck me! In the movie 101 Dalmatians, as a nickname, Perdita was shortened to Perdy. So instead of calling her "Pretty Girl" I started calling her "Perdy Girl". And BAM, our little Perdita.

I take pictures of her constantly but only on my phone, seeing as I don't have a better camera than that. So, sorry for the lack of quality. I'll try not to bombard you with too many pictures (for now!) But hopefully you all enjoy!

My most recent picture of her. About 4 months old.

More to come soon!

Thank you very much! She's currently in the middle of a shed, I can't wait to see what her colors look like when she's done. :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
