Well, last night Phantom passed away and we went back to the shop we got her from. We got a full refund and took the money to a small local shop that gets their reptiles from local breeders and Herp shows. They helped us pick out Mojo, estimated to be about 6 months old Mojo is about 9 inches long, VERY alert, and HUNGRY!
On the way home Mojo was in a clear Deli cup (never seen one that size lol) and next to him/her I held the bag of crickets they GAVE us to get him/her started with. Mojo was going nuts trying to get them so I moved the crickets to the floor of the car. Then Mojo watched out the window occassionally looking at me. On the way home we all talked about what to name the newbie, first I thought treasure because he/she looks yellow with brown and some burnt orange. But it did not feel right, then oldest daughter says Solaris. Nah. My husband glanced over (he was driving) and says, "That guys working his mojo on you ha ha ha!" Soon as he said mojo the beardie goes nuts, crawling around flicking his toungue, and waving its arms on the wall of the cup. We all got really quiet and hubby says "Mojo" and the beardie looked at him! So I said Mojo and he look at me! We waited a bit and then said mojo when he was looking away from me and he jumped around eyeballing me like "WHAT??!!??" We all cracked up, this guy knew his name. We do not know Mojo's gender but its ok we think Mojo is good for a male or female I'm so glad we found you guys to help us with our journey with Phantom.
When we got home I gave Mojo 4 crickets while I cleaned out the cage, which only took a few minutes, and when I went to grab the cup to put him in the cage all of them were gone and he wanted more! I think Mojo will work out much better because he is bigger. He is such a pretty color too! Cost us $10- less than the petco baby Phantom. So you know where we will go in the future for pets. The local places! Well, that or the reptile shows or local breeders lol.
