Meet Lucio!

This is my new little baby! My first time being a beardie mum! Lucio is 6 months old, or so i've been told. He is settling in very well, eating very well, although I struggle to get him to eat his fruit and veggies, he's just having none of it. He's also a bit skittish, he won't let me hold him at all so I struggle to get him out and clean his tank and bathe him, any advice to make him more calm? This means I can't measure or weigh him either At times he will sit at the glass and look at me like he wants me to get him out but when i go to him he runs away :/ I've tried feeding him out of my hand, he just comes to me, gets the food and then bolts away.

He looks nice and alert and healthy. It may take him time to adjust to his new home so don't push the handling too much for now. If that means you can't weigh him for now, that's OK. Just give him some space to settle in and keep offering him treats to help build some trust. Keep trying with the veges but at 6 months he should still be getting daily bug meals.

We had a small victory tonight, he let me get him out and bathe him, and then he was happy to sit with me for a little while, he was even reluctant to climb off my hand when I put him back in his tank! He's getting his bug meals twice a day and is always eating a lot of them! Hopefully he is starting to trust me. Thanks for replying, it's good to know im not a bad beardie mum hahah :lol:

Sounds like he's settling in then =). It also looks like his head may be going into a shed soon. Look for beard puffing, eye bulging, and head rubbing that will help him loosen that skin a bit. Sheds (especially around their head) can also have them a bit more irritable for a time so keep that in mind as it's pretty normal.
