Ok technically I don't have her yet but I will be getting her, barring any unforeseen delays, on Thursday. Some may have seen her in the For Free section:

I saw her Saturday afternoon as I was watching college fb and she just wouldn't leave my head. I decided to sleep on it to see if I still was interested (what I make myself do with all my pets, sometimes for more than week), asked my roommate if he could handle another animal in the house, and emailed Tom. The roommate and I had an adventure getting a 20 gallon for this girl and I ordered small dubias for her (which I had previously thought I was done with permanently). I still need to pick up a fluorescent fixture and Reptisun from Petco but everything else is pretty much ready. Can you tell I'm excited!

Oh and in case anyone was wondering about the name, I like to name my animals after famous scientists. I couldn't go with Stephen Hawking as this was a girl, so I went with the name they have his wife on Family Guy. Obscure but it makes me and my friends giggle

wonderful news, I am so happy for her and you. I wanted her too, but just did not have the system in place to take another one yet. I think, I will invest getting an extra setup so I can pick up one that I come across. I have seen a few lately locally on craigslist that need rescuing and I just am not set up for it... yet. Keep us updated on pictures and how she is doing.

Oh I know what you're talking about! I've been wanting a second one since Darwin went into brumation last year. I just haven't had the space for it. But when I saw her, I knew I just had to have her. A little shuffling around in my room produced enough space for a 20 long. If she needs a 40 breeder later, I can probably move my bookshelf into the living room :D

Wow that's terrible. You could try posting that in the Rescue section and seeing if someone has room for them. Nobody should have to pay to rescue those poor things; they should be offered up freely by the "breeder". :(

I am so glad you were able to take her. Shes such a special little beardie and Im sure she will have a long happy life with you in spite of her twisted little body. She seems so bright and alert and its wonderful she can get around like she does. Congrats...and post lots of pictures as she grows. I loved her colors but unfortunately I couldnt have cared for her. Im so glad someone that could got her.

Thanks Tonja! I hope to give her the best care I can for as long as she's with me (which I hope will be for many long years!). I'm planning on keeping the forum updated on her progress, whoever cares to follow :D , and will post a picture thread when she gets settled in.

Also just found out that I have taken my cat to see a reptile vet earlier this year

Unfortunately they couldn't draw blood on my cat so I had to take her to another vet office that can handle an aggressive cat, but he's right down the street from me should I ever need one!

Good you have a reptile vet so close to you, like you I am very fortunate to have a very good reptile vet 30-40 mins from me..being in a small town having her that close is great. She came highly recommended by the CSU school of veterinary medicine and I have full trust in her after her treatment of my Geico. Give that sweet girl a pet on the throat for me when you get her.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
