Hello, i'm new to posting on the site, but have read through many stories to learn how to look after my little guy for a while now. He's 11 months, had him from 5 months. He wasn't the perkiest in the tank at the pet shop, but the bright orange under his neck looked stunning and he is just perfect. He took a little while to get used to me but soon was sleeping on my chest at night and shows me affection every day. Just posting on here to say hello and if anyone wanted to see my best buddy i'll post some photos on here.

Cute little guy. What substate is he on?

He's on a substrate called 'beardie life', which is a merge or sand and soil. I realised loose substrate is frowned upon, but it was suggested from my local reptile shop and Aegon seems to love it.

I would take it out. Try, tile, carpet, shelf paper, paper towels, or newspaper.
