Mealworms

Is there a good place online that sells mealworms? My beardie loves them, he's doesn't seem to want to eat crickets as much now. Maybe he's not hungary? If there are any good sites I would be thankful for that

Also I've had my beardie for maybe a couple months, I got him when he was a baby. What should the feeding schedule look like ( Just to make sure). Thanks!

I never order mealworms because they aren't a very good feeder, but I like Mulberryfarms for buying feeders from. They usually have the cheapest prices and the insects they ship are usually very healthy.

If you are going to be ordering online, I would suggest possibly a different worm feeder, perhaps silkworms, reptiworms, hornworms or butterworms. All these are much better than mealworms, especially for a young dragon.

I tried out petco and flukers and wasnt too happy with the survival rate or quality. Mulberry farms is much better and :lol: my beardie loves the aqua horn worms

Basically any of the other worms I mentioned I would recommend. All much better choices for feeders.

Regarding your question about feeders on day lettuce the next:

Baby dragons need to be fed live feeders 2-3 times per day, and need to be offered as many as they can eat in a 10-15 minute time span.
This can easily equal 50-100 feeders a day!

A baby needs this much protein to grow into an adult, and they are very unlikely to eat salad, which you shouldn't be too concerned with while they are still babies.

The maximum quantity is 2 and they only have up to 50 worms...
That's only like 2 days worth of food O_O I can't find anything better though.. What about superworms?

Superworms should only be fed to dragons over 16 inches.

Yeah, mulberyfarms has been having a shortage of live silkworms, but they sell the eggs, and you can grow them yourself. You have to buy the special food for them too but in the end it comes out to being cheaper than buying the worms themselves.
But, they are slightly difficult to take care of.

You can try costalsilkworms, they usually have silkworms in stock.
There are also reptiworms and Phoenix worms.

The key to a healthy dragon is a varied diet. Don't just feed 1 bug

i order 1000 1/2 inch crickets and raise them in 5 gallon buckets with the lid off on my patio. Also I feed baby meal worms, butterworms, phoenix worms and horn worms.
I havent tried roaches yet but everyone seems to breed those and feed those and claim they are cleaner and quieter.

Since reading the info here I started feeding my dragon as Brandon suggested (ten minutes of non stop) at least twice a day. Three times on weekends. A nice salad everyday with juvenile pellet food, kale, squash and bell peppers. My dragon is going off and growing very fast. The baths help with hydration and seem to put my guy in a good mood too.

Oh and Claud, I got a humidity gauge ad it is at 38-40%. I just stuck it in there so I may still be moving around a bit. I'm going to have a temp. thermometer soon.
