hi, im laura, 15 years old and just brought a beardie 4 days ago :):)

we dont know how old charley is, or if infact he is a boy, but the pet shop reckon hes about 5/6 months

we havnt really had time to bond yet, as he is just getting used to his new home, but i gave him his first bath yesterday and he seemed really attached to me :)

my poor fellow has been badly suffering, as the pet shop onlygave us a 40watt bulb, and the maximum heat in his basking area was only 70.6F :(:( so he hasnt been eating and hes been very still.

but we haev just gone and brought a heat emitter, which gives of heat and no light, and is 100 W, and after being in there for 15 mins, is already up to 85.1 F so hes getting warmer :):)

what a cutie!!! I'm fifteen too, and its really great to see other teens out there with beardies who really care enough to find sites like this and get in the know.
btw, how is the heat emitter working? I was thinking of getting one to use with a uvb bulb instead of using a mercury vapor.
let me know how its going.

its great.. because we had been suffering so much, i didnt think anything would work.

but the temps are finally up to 105F now, so im alot happier, and charley is much more active.

i have some more pics :) ive just put tiles in his tank, looks alot better, just waiting for our background we ordered. should be here tomorrow :)

of course, with the heat emitter, it doesnt give off no light. you dont have too, but i just brought a simple 20 w desk lamp and put it near the basking spot for extra light.

He looks so cute, glad you got your temp issues sorted.

A bit OT, but cinder, if you decide to get a CHE, you need to make sure you still use a bright white bulb with your UVB tube otherwise you will damage your beardies eyes. If your tank is big enough, a MVB is the better choice.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
