MBD???

I just adopted a new beardie from my vet. I have had beardies before but never had one that was really sick. This guy was turned over to the vet to be euthanized..the vet couldn't do it, since there was really no need. The vet believes he has MBD and one of his front feet turn under at the "wrist". He also seems to sleep alot and really isn't interested in food (although he does eat a little). Are these all common symptoms of MBD and what can I do to help him?? I have a reptile vet all set up, but unfortunately, she's on maternity leave right now and the vet filling in doesn't seem too smart when it comes to reptiles. She's supposed to be a reptile specialist too, but I'm not to sure. Any help would be great..I never had this problem with my other beardies.

A picture of your dragon in question from the top showing legs and tail, would be a great help. What you explained though are symptoms of MBD. Make sure it is getting good UV light like a unfiltered (no screen mesh top) Reptisun 10.0 or 5.0 depending on the enclosure size. Make sure to dust with a calcium D3 dusting. Don't feed live feeders that are hard to digest during this time either, like no superworms. Baby food is a good choice as it can be syringe feed. I would also keep the basking spot at 105 degrees for better digestion. When feeding greens feed thing like Bok Choy, Mustard Greens, Collard Greens ect.. as they have more nutritional value then things like lettuce. Please update when you can.

hi! my beardie Sabrina has MBD, i took her to the vet 5 days ago and they gave me antibiotics to make her stronger and to eat because she wasn't eating on her own. i have been force feeding her baby food mixed with calcium powder & every day she eats more and more and hopefully in a few days she will eat crickets again. Sabrina also has very limp legs and she kind of waddles in order to get around because she doesnt have the strength yet to walk on her "feet". i'm staying hopeful! I hope your beardie gets better & glad you adopted him/her! keep us posted
