Hello,

You could get some foil to make shift a reflector, or some roof flashing to go over the light for making a reflector. Can you get the light directly overhead for her?
How is she doing this evening?

Okay, I will try to get it overhead today. Should I make a reflector when it's overhead too? I will update you on here once her lights have been on for a bit

do you think that there's too much in her cage?

i made the baby food more watery this time and i can get her to eat more of it. her back legs have stopped spasming but her front right leg still is but less often, about 3 times a day. i don't know if that is good or not. and she looks more alert but not much

the vet is all booked so should i make an appointment and wait or wait for the calcium?

she is more alert today too :) and she ate some roaches. but moving less for sure but not getting worse.

i think i've decided to wait for the calcium but if she gets any worse or even shows any sighs of it, i will take her to the vet

That's good to hear ! If she stopped spasming then she may already be reacting to the extra calcium + good uvb lighting. Hopefully she'll continue to improve. :)

Hello,

That looks great! Yes, you can use the foil with it being overhead so that it will help direct the light downwards more. It should really help & will be easier on his eyes not having it glare at his eyes so much.
I am happy to hear that he seems to be doing better & that he hasn't had any seizure type activity today, either. :D
Keep us updated on how he is doing.

To help her along you might want to get some serrapeptase and liquid calcium. Give the serrapeptase at least 1 hr before eating and it should help her absorb calcium better and help with pain naturally. Not sure if you mentioned using turkey or chicken baby food mixed with veggy baby food. It might make the taste more appealing plus get some protein in her. I really hope she gets better.

Okay, great! I'll put the foil on today. I've never heard of serrapeptase until now and it looks like it would be great to use. thank you for suggesting it! I am giving baby food but just Vegg, I didn't really see many people using anything other than vegetable baby food. if its okay I might do it, but do you think she'd be happier eating Roaches herself? since she seems able to now. She ate for 10 minutes, very ferociously too. Normally she'd get a little full after 10 and eat much slower for a couple minutes and then just stare and eventually walk away

Oh yes definitely stay away from the baby food and let her eat roaches if she's eating them. As for veggy, have you tried putting little pieces into the side of her lip and see if she'll eat that way? You could also try dipping some in apple juice to get her to try.

no i haven't, but that sounds like good ideas though! i'll try them tomorrow. as for progress, she is doing her best since all this. the calcium arrived today! so i gave that to her. i think she was a little confused after i did though :D she kept looking around and licking the air, what a goober  she was fine the rest of the day, even had some more roaches( about 4) but she did have one spasm that i saw but other than that she was good. when i was giving her the second dose i decided to try doing it outside of her cage, which i think she really liked and i did too. i didn't realize how much i missed hanging out with her. i would still take two hours a day and spend them with her but it isn't the same. after i finished up with her i put her back and she actually walked around and was walking much better  she got to explore all the new things which i found adorable but freaked me out. i was so scared she would hurt herself but she didn't. she had no problems except getting on the last step up to her basking spot but she made it :blob5:

I have a few beardies with issues too and spend a lot of time with them. Just seems like the bonds get stronger the more time we spend worrying and doting over them. It's always good to keep them moving, like physical therapy. Hopefully you can get some serrapeptase or better yet, if you can find them you could just get her some silkworms to eat, that is where it comes from. I find it easier giving meds and baby food on the counter and if they try to run they can't get too far on the slippery surface.

i agree, i think it does make the bond stronger. i will try and find some silkworms but if i can't i'll order some serrapeptase from Tracie. how many beardies do you have?

I have 3 now. A 1yr old and (2) 5 month old brother and sister. The one year old has ADV and is currently not eating on his own. I got him from someone else and is not related to the other 2 so I have to be very careful in not cross contaminating anything. I just have to educate myself enough and do all I know for him and hopefully will live a long full life. Hopefully yours should recover and there won't be anymore issues. If you do go to the vet the things they would check are parasites, maybe an x-ray and then they'd want to do blood work. With past experience I don't trust the vets much anymore and getting blood work can stress them out. Unless you really trust the vet and/or they are very experienced I would seek second opinions on here before starting treatment. The blood work is not always very accurate as you can get false readings just from them being stressed.

I don't think it's the best time of the year for silkworms as I can't really find them right now either. I think they sell out pretty quick too. I think one would be fine for now. My beardies seem to like the mango flavor but I haven't tried the others.

i hope your beardies live a happy life! i was not aware of the blood work being able to be so off :| if you don't mind me asking, what are your experiences with the vets? it's so hard to find good doctors in general, i wish it were easier.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
