It probably wouldn't help to change the towel over to foil. Most of the top of our tank is exposed screen except where the hoods for the daylight basking bulb, long UVB bulb and basking bulb are, so we had a decent area to cover in foil. It sounds like most of the top of your tank is covered.

I can't imagine being away from my "baby" Isis for that long. Sounds like they're handling her well though and she's starting to maybe perk up a bit. Best of luck and I wish I could help more! Keep us updated on her though!

I'm finally going to pick her up in the morning. They are doing another fecal on her then just to confirm that all those nasty parasites are gone, but her blood test came back with very little infection left so they have obviously done the right thing with her meds and she's doing heaps better!
Can't wait to have her back cos it's driving me crazy now.
I did enjoy the break from worrying so much the first few hours but now it doesn't feel natural.
They sent me a few photos today and she looks like normal and i'm glad to see that her beard isn't all dark like it was! Means she must be feeling better now.

Hi Forte....so nice of people like you to take in rescues and try to give them a good life, spending the time + money and all. If she is lying on her log with eyes closed, that doesn't follow the normal beardie brumation behavior [ they get on floor and curl up + try to hide generally ] so I would lean towards her not feeling well for sure. I just wondered, how close can she get to the UVB ? That might contribute to her problem if she can't get close enough, like within 10 inches. Also, do you have a light/ heat source besides the ceramic emitter ? { Excuse me if I missed it, so much info I forgot all that you wrote ] If not, you can use a halogen bulb for brigthness, beardies will not do well without a bright basking light. You already mentioned that you don't want the red, that's good. But some type of bright light should be used in conjunction with the UVB bulb. I hope all goes well with her liver problems and that she will bounce back.

@ Lisa I"M SOOOOO Happy she is finally coming home! So pleased that she is feeling better! Thank you for your wishes.

I have suspended her hood lamp (UVB) down so she is with in about 9-10 inches but only when she is on her log. I haven't lowered it as if I do she climbs up her back drop and gets on top of it. Should I maybe look at getting a bit closer so that she is getting more UVB when she isn't on her log.

I'm also a bit confused about your other question.
My light setup is 2x ceramic heat emitter (one for basking and one for ambient and only turns on when there is a drop in temp)
2x UVB tube lamp. I have had problems in the past so one is on for most of the day and the other is on part of the day.
I also have a light/fan that I don't have on. It's supposed to heat and provide UVB which can be circulated but it makes a really loud noise so I haven't had it turned on. It's not a ceramic one it's just a normal halogen light. Should I maybe think about turning this on? I just don't think she likes the noise.
