Hello. I am looking to building my own enclosure for my beardies. I was hoping I could get recommendations from some of you more experienced builders on safe sealants and or epoxys for the interior of the enclosure. I will be using birch plywood for the base, walls, and roof. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance guys and much love to our scaley families.

Untreated plywood is a good base to use. Then you can coat it with a non toxic paint or seal it with polyurethane as you wish. Just make sure to let it dry thoroughly and air out before putting it into use. Here is a walkthrough of a popular build style. https://beardies.dreamwidth.org/2145.html It's a bit dated now though. If I were to follow this I would put a vent low on the cool side and high on the warm side and not bother with so many rear vents. I'd probably use a drop down front with a latch at the top although sliding doors work too. I'd also use a 22'' T5 fixture and UVB light set over the basking area rather than using a T8 sitting away from the basking area. Making it a bit taller would be good too. That will allow better climbing space and the more powerful lighting should have no trouble with it.
