Male bearded dragon not eating with female in the room

We have a 10 month old male bearded dragon. He had been doing great - until.... We are babysitting a friend's older and bigger female bearded dragon. Their cages are in the same room but not directly near each other. She is fine and eating normally - but little man is going nuts. His color is dark, head bobbing, bearding, will race to her tank if we put him on the ground. He is eating a small amount of veggies but not touching his superworms which is very unusual. It's day 3. We have the other one for a total of a week and a half. Should I be worried? He also hadn't pooped in 2 days going on three. He is a daily pooper - though he is not eating much which may explain that.

I have him out getting some alone time in another room with me and thought I may try to feed him in a little bit since his color seems to go back to normal when we keep him out of the room for a bit (though when we did this last night he still wouldn't eat).

Because the tanks are so big and we have to put them in a room we can close off from our cat - moving them to be in different parts would be a last resort.

I got him to eat about half of his normal diet today after letting him hang out with me (away from her) for a few hours. And he also pooped. We ended up shielding him from the sight of her cage (the back of her tank is blacked out so we turned it around).

I just hope he doesn't starve over the next 6 days, poor guy

Update - he isn't eating today either. He may have had some veggies and that's it. Even though he can't see her - he is still agitated and head bobbing/bearding. Worried he won't eat.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
