Major Behavior Change - Sleeping All Day - Hiding

Age about 9 months old. In the past week he has started hiding under his hide and sleeping all day. Seems uninterested in crickets. Is eating his greens and other vegs. Is pooping. He will come running for a superworm though. I dust the crickets. He looks very tired lately and when handled just lays there whereas he would normally run from one shoulder to the other.

I am close to finishing my new viv. 2 weeks away. He is staying in the 20 gallon starter tank (piece of crap) that the pet store sold me. The light is one that holds 2 bulbs so I cannot put a Repti10.0 tube in, it is only 18 inches long too. I have 2 sitting here for new viv but just cannot put him in there yet. I have a Repti 5.0 in one side and regular bulb in the other. Temps are a little low. 95-98 degrees.

He did start to shed 3-4 days ago. Very small shed then stopped.

Any suggestions? Should I do something about the lighting?

Thank you, jon

Jon, is it the reptiglo10.0 or the reptisun10.0? If it is the reptiglo10.0 just turn it off and get a reptisun10.0 on him! Good luck...

Lance, I have Reptisun 10.0 bulbs but they are for the new viv which is not fnished. He is in his starter tank still with a Reptisun 5.0 bulb (coiled).

Should I add another 5.0 reptisun?

His new viv won't be ready for at least 2 weeks. I could plug it in now for emergency purposes but it still needs a few days to regulate temps etc.

Thx jon

Ok, the coil is actually damaging. You should turn it off immdiatly. He will be ok for a while, prob needs time to rest his eyes before giving him th nice reptisun.

On another note, he may be trying to brumminate.

I threw the coil in the garbage. He has been out ever since i removed the light. Eating and looking good. Thanks for the help. So far he seems much better.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
