Well I went to the Vet yesterday for Maize and Kai to be checked.

Maize has grown from 48.5 grams to 69.5 grams in 1-week. The Dr and myself were shocked how much she grew. Other then that, she looks good, but she is still a little stressed out. He feels she is stressed from the move and introducing of the other beardie Kai.

As far as Kai he was loosing weight from not eating. Here is the brake down
6/14 1.6oz = 45.7grams
6/19 1.5oz = 42.8grams
6/24 1.5oz = 43.0grams

He stated that he is boarder lining dehydration, due to not eating and no liquids. With him loosing and not gaining any weight I need to feed him pedialite or water through a syringe at least 2x a day. He feels it is because of stress, introduction to Maize, everything.

I’m supposed to find out today about the results of the fecal test. They send them out to a company to run them because they are more thorough.

Do Maize and Kai live together in the same viv? If so your vet is probably right about the stress thing. An if so you might consider seperating them. Maize is only going to grow like a weed now and this will be very intimidating to Kai who is smaller.

If I'm wrong for assuming they are living in one viv please forgive me.

Good luck on the fecal tests! :)

PS
Have you also been bathing them?
If not it will help alot in rehydrating your little one along with the pedialyte.

Just got a call from Dr. Maize has pinworms only and Kai is free of everything. We are going to treat both of them for the pinworms even though Kai is OK. They were housed together for like a week.

I wouldn't bath them together they need their own time. I find that bathing is a good time to get some one on one attention from the slave. I see many that actually do bath their beardies together but I personally perfer to make it special time for them....it should be a time when they can relax. JMO

Sorry to hear that your having to deal with parasites :( they suck!
But it's nice to get rid of them and have some peace of mind.

Keith, separate baths, and we do need to get them separate vivs too. When was that other one coming ?
Janie.

Well they are seperated now, I will email you the pic of what he is in now. There is a reptile show coming up middle of July and I was thinking about looking at them. The show in PA had some great custom ones so. I havent found any carpenters yet that would return my call haha

That's a good idea about having one-on-one time when it's bath time. I'm glad I know the resultsso I know exactly what to do. I just wish Kai would pucker up and start eating. I left him like 15 pheonix worms and 3 roaches this morning, and so far my roomate said he hasnt touched them. Not sure why...really wierd.

I would bet it is the stress. I know you haven't had Kai all that long, but with Maize in the picture, stress is definately a strong possibility. Did the vet offer a coccidia level on both ?
Janie.
I'll be waiting on that email so I can get you the information you need !

In the last couple days I think, please correct me if I was wrong !
Maize and I have been communicating via PMs quite a bit lately, as I have been helping him out with several issues, and I am right on top of the meds thing too, even sent a link for the
Acidophiliz
And, suggesting the extra bathing and Soy Yogurt.
Janie ;)

He has been seperated for almost a week now. The Dr said they are free of everything except Maize with PinWorms. So I imagine that means no coccidia! I cant access the site you sent me, work is sometimes a pain with what they block.

Okay then I'd definitely say stress still.

But I noticed Janie you asked about testing for coccidia. I have a concern if they are treated for coccidia while still going thru the relocation stress at their size. The coccidia med's are very harsh an you really don't want to have to give them if you don't have to with very small beardies. Let me explain....when a beardie is under stress the coccidia levels will automatically be high(this may be a false high count due to stress)...I personally would hold off on the coccidia treatment until the relocation stress has subsided. I have had this experience before where a stressing beardie had a high count but once the stress was gone the levels went very low an actually didn't need to be treated. Just my thoughts!

Well, we got that sorted out, so okay. I would indeed specifically ask about the coccidia levels as well as the float count of the pin worms too.
Janie.
Yes, I covered that about the coccidia, as I didn't want both meds to be used.
Harsh is an understatement, eh ?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
