Best picture I can get but has anyone experienced this? Our little beardie has a lump/swollen under its tail at the base. Stomach is also slightly bigger than normal. We are fairly new to having beardies so not sure if I’m just overreacting or if this could be something it needs to be vetted for.

Hello,

Oh my just looking at the one picture here, impaction comes to mind, maybe metabolic bone
disease, not sure. A lump like this is definitely not normal at all.
Can you post another picture with the belly facing the camera for a better view? How long
have you had him/her?
Since you mentioned the stomach is slightly bigger than normal, that sounds like a possible
impaction. What foods have you fed recently & what substrate is he on?
Do you have any vets you could take him to?

I was thinking possible impaction but all the pictures I’ve looked up don’t look like mine. Food is greens such as collared and a few mealworms (as per our vet. Because this one is not growing like our other. Making sure it’s getting lots of protein) and crickets. Nether one of our beardies like veggies much. And they are on the carpet. We have two we got at the same time both were the same age and other one doing great. Got them about 3 weeks ago.

Hiccup he is 6 and Blaze is 4
DO NOT let them do an enema --------------- it is too hard on their system -- get some baby prune or unsweetened applesauce w/ some olive oil added in and feed them that --- give a nice warm bath and rub tummy to try and get them to go poop------ are the dragons housed together???? If so they need to be separated ------ oh and NO more meal worms --- this is probably why they are impacted ---- feed them dubia roaches or crickets or BSFL for staples --- babies should never have meal worms they are too hard on their digestive system ---

Hi there,

You mention he isnt growing like your other one. Are they housed together or separately?

What bulb are you using for uvb and what is its distance to the basking surface?

I'd agree with Tracie, it's likely an impaction or MBD. He looks so young though it's possible it's also a genetic defect. did you buy him from a breeder?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
