My little guy named Peppers hasn't been using his left arm as well as he used to. There is a big lump on the top of his arm, and the skin under his scales is being exposed on his elbow. I have included some pictures.
He basks under a 100 watt MVB, and there is a reptisun 10.0 strip light across his 40 gallon breeder. I took him to the vet about 5 weeks ago and there were no signs of MBD, however some liquid calcium was prescribed just in case, and he has been taking very little doses of that once a day. He eat dusted superworms, occasional dubia roachs, and sometimes greens. About 1 year old.

Here are some pictures of the lump. What do you think?

My guess based on the photos is either gout or an infection of some kind. I suggest going to the vet to have a sample drawn to see what's going on in that arm. If it's an infection, it can be treated with antibiotics most likely. If it's gout, then it's a long term ailment but can be treated with medication such as Allopurinol. I would get it checked out sooner rather than later to treat it as early as possible.

The vet said it was a broken arm, with MBD, and urged that I begin giving him more natural sunlight. A previous vet gave me liquid calcium, and this vet said that was useless without natural sunlight. Natural sunlight helps the dragon produce vitamin D3, which helps the dragon use the calcium properly for bone strength and density. Calcium without D3 doesn't do anything. This dragon in the photos eventually passed away, but I have a new dragon now who is super healthy thanks to the recommendation from the vet about getting them out into natural sunlight.

I also switched to using Repashy supplements, moreso in the winter time because many of those supplements contain D3, and the vet mentioned that eating D3 is more reliable than artificial lights which produce UVB. Learned a lot, and my 2nd beardie is healthy as ever!

Thank you for sharing this. Unfortunately, alot of us have had beardies w problems who have passed...
I was asking for more Info because I have a 1yr old w a lump on her front leg. Xray showed healthy bones so no mbd. She's taking antibiotics in case it's an infection. Or maybe it's simply a soft tissue injury...

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
