Lump on tail, formed in a day?

My eight year old beardy Big Mack seems to now have a lump halfway down his tail. It was not there yesterday that I recall, define toy not the day before. I handle him frequently. He has a new uvb bulb that is not blocked by screens and powder dusting on his food. I am wondering if he possibly broke his tail or something, or if this may be a abscess considering how fast it popped up. Posting pictures in next response, and will give more info if needed. I am really worried about this.

He seems to have pain when I touch it, but only move and so forth. I tried to give him a bath and he kept freaking out when I touched him. That's how I discovered that lump.

Hi there....it doesn't look serious, but you say it really hurts him or was he just being fussy about you picking him up ? it's hard to say what it is but if he reacts as if it hurts, it may be some type of abcess or possibly a small fracture. Do you have a qualified reptile vet that could have a look and possibly do a fine needle aspiration if necessary ? It would be a strange place for a break but anything is possible...an X-ray could determine that for you.

There is another picture I have but somehow this iPad isn't letting me do it. Apparently XIMG won't let me add more photos lol. But the scales on top of it are kinda separated, can see white skin between them. And he does seem to be as sensitive to it as he was in the bath.however, it is still very much there. The lump itself is about the size of a pencil eraser. It was very hard to photo because of the dark scales. We have a vet I think, but it would be quite a trip.

I went to the veg, and had a sample taken of it. It seems it is a hematoma  Part of me is thrilled, and the other half is annoyed that I took him twenty miles to the nearest vet for a bruise. :banghead: Oh well.

Hello,

Poor guy, a hematoma should heal up pretty quickly. He apparently got it caught somehow & hurt it. It should be fine though, but maybe check in his tank to see what he could have hurt it on, unless he fell or jumped off of something recently?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
