Okay, I'm wondering if my loud 12-year-old twin boys rough housing could possibly freak a young beardie out. We have not gotten one yet, but for all those parents out there who have loud and rowdy kids (you know what I mean), how does this effect the behavior to your beardies? Could it freak them out (the sudden movements or noise) or do they adapt like a cat or dog would? Maybe every beardie is different? Any comments, words of advice, etc. I just want the environment to be as calm as possible for the new little guy. We are planning on putting him in my one son's room, but he'll get visited very often! Thanks in advance you guys!

Well, I dont have kids, but I have a really loud dog. 2 of my beardies dont pay any attention to him, but if my dog barks near Brady's viv, Brady will jump. Other loud noises at the house dont bother any of my beardies.

They adapt. At least ours did. I have a very active 13 year old son and our beardie Izzy actually loves being around activity. They enjoy human interaction. I really thinks he gets lonely / depressed during the day when our son is at school. He really perks up in the afternoons when everyone gets home from work and school. This is playtime for him!!

My beardie could honestly care less. I was so afraid of having the vaccuum on around her. Phoenix's viv is on the floor (so she can crawl in and out on her own) and she wasn't phased. Remember that every beardie has it's own likes and dislikes...

I blast music with my Beardies, they love it ! And my 5 year old sister always jumps and screams around them, and there totally fine with it, so i don't think it would bother it that much, it just has to adapt to it's environment thats around it.

My Rex lives in my 3rd grade classroom during the week and home with me on weekends. He loves the kids at school and isn't bothered by any noise in the classroom - and it can get noisy, believe me! He didn't even flinch the other day during the fire drill! In fact, on the weekends, I think he misses all the action. It is much quieter and calmer at my house than at school.

Don't worry - they adapt to their environment.

Rex looks adorable! I bet the kids just love having him in your classroom. We are so anxious to get our new addition and hope that he will adapt well to our household. Have a great day!

Yes, they love having him. They are already thinking ahead to next year. They want me to move up and teach them in 4th grade so they'll still have Rex. I told them they'll just have to come visit me! :)

Good luck with your beardie!

Out of the 6 we have only one gets freaked out by my grandson hes almost 1 yr old. But the one that gets scared by the baby has always been a shy/watchful beardie. The other beardies could care less. Hes very loud. My kids are loud tv blaring, music blasting.

I have a feeling you will be moving the viv to the living room,as i am sure you will make a fine beardie slave. :) You will want to see what the beardies doing...eating...ect.
Its best to start the potty training early.

I have a metal head beardie who will run over and sit on my teenager's lap when he is shredding on his guitar. Beardies like all the action of life. And I agree with Malibusmom, you should put your viv in the living room so your new little guy can rule the roost from day one and get lots of Grandma's attention. We get them for the kids, but we become the slaves. LOL

I have a young beardie and we put his viv in the kitchen (I know it sounds like an odd spot, but its the busiest place in the house). My beardie loves my 4 year old, but HATES my 2 year old! Id the 2 year old comes near the viv he'll hopdown from his branch and run to the front and turn all dark and puff his beard out. I really think it just depends on your Beardie.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
