My beardie retained shed around his toes due to stepping in his baby food - it dried around his toes and the shed couldn't properly fall off. I didn't know this was an issue until his first vet visit (about 3 weeks ago), after which I followed the vets instructions about gently scrubbing off the residue in the bath. The food and shed came off, but it was unfortunately too late and he has since lost 4 toes, with up to 3 possibly next (hard to tell).
I've read that he will be okay as long as there are no signs of infection, which I don't see, but he has been dark and stressed since they started falling off and I am worried that I may be missing an infection. Does anyone see anything in the pictures? (https://imgur.com/a/AJCeQa5) I only have a picture of the front foot but the others look the same. I'm sure losing toes isn't fun and that could be why he's stressed but he was absolutely fine right before he lost the first one, wouldn't he be stressed from the loss of circulation then?
The only other things I can think of that might be causing his stress is that it is getting increasingly colder out (he has a ceramic heat lamp at night so he's above 65F but still) or my bf has been scaring him unintentionally by handling him when I'm not there or making loud and sudden movements around his viv.
