I have had my bearded dragon for just over a month now (I believe he is about 9 months old, but I actually don't know) . About two weeks ago he started to exhibit signs as if he were beginning to brumate; he seemed less and less interested in food, and more and more interested in sleeping on the cool side of the tank. However, at that point, he hadn't passed his latest poop, and since then I have been unsuccessful in coaxing him to poop. I have been massaging him daily, warm baths every few days, I gave him several small crickets dipped in mineral oil, and I have given him a bath in 50/50 Pedialyte. Even though I thought he was going to brumate, I continued to feed him a smaller amount than normal, because when he was awake, he voraciously attacked his greens, and I felt like I was starving him if I just didn't at least offer food. His back legs still work fine, and there are no visible bumps or things like that near his vent or on his abdomen.
My main concern at this point is getting him to poop regularly again. He is in a 40 gallon, with the 160 Powersun lamp. His temps are about 100 on the warm side and about 75-80 on the cold side. When he ate normally, he got 6-8 crickets a day, dusted and gutloaded with Flukers Orange. The greens offered were mustard, collard, and dandelion greens. He used to poop once every 2 days. I am careful about the size of everything he eats, but I gave him a super worm right before all this started, and I believe that he might not have chewed it very well, and it is what is causing the lack of poop.
He is not in pain or acting in a manner that makes me think he is in danger. He just seems sad and doest poop.
