Overdue update (Sorry!)
It would appear after all this drama, we're looking at a pending brumation period. I've been adjusting my set-up to be inline with suggestions here and switched up feeders, but I also went back and really read through the brumation article and some of the forum posts on the issue, and it truly looks like a brumation period beginning. Lately Rincewind has been staying in his bed, in the cool spot, under his covers, without choosing to come out, and his bx are consistent with pre-brumation attitudes/etc. I'm keeping up with baths, offering food once daily, and monitoring temps, and I've created a cool/dark space should he choose to go down. A friend of mine is an animal bx specialist who works for the Portland Zoo (I have no idea why I waited so long to remember her as a resource) and she has worked in their (extensive) herp dept. with several dragons and other scaly guys, and is fairly certain it's either pre-brumation or just going off of food in general while he transitions. She says he looks good; if he goes another month or so or drops weight quickly, her advice is to get him to a vet (as I've done in times past, I don't like to screw around) for a parasites check. Her expertise and the info I've got here has helped me calm down and realize I've got to wait this out, trust that I've treated him well, and expect nature to take its course. He'll either start eating soon, or zonk out for a few weeks, or I'll take him to the vet.
Thanks all again for your help, and if it gets weird, I'm sure I'll be back.
As always, glad to be a part of this community.
