Hello !

My husband & I really want to purchase a bearded dragon, the only thing is we both work full time. Would this be a problem for the dragon? I know it's sounds strange but we wouldn't want to neglect it. Several websites have stated they have to eat at least 3 times a day. How time consuming is it to keep a dragon and would the dragon feel neglected if we were only able to play with it sometime in the evening when we get home from work? As for storing crickets what is the best way of doing this and what would be the best way of feeding crickets.

Thanks in advance

Getting a sub adult dragon (3-6 months old)would be better for full time workers, then you can do one feed in the morning and another when you get home.

If you use worms as a feeder (hornworms, butterworms, phoenix worms maybe, they can be a bit small for some dragons, supers if he is more than 15" long) then you can leave those in during the day as well for him to eat as he wants along with his salad.

I'd say the most time consuming part is actually the salad prep. To that end I tend to keep my greens in water on the counter top. I trim the ends every day and change the water out and it keeps them fresh, I just grab a chunk of leaf rinse it off and tear it up. Veggies you can prep and keep in the fridge, I shred carrot and butternut squash, enough for a few days and keep it in a tupperware container so I can just grab a handful in the morning.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
