Looking to get Dubai Roaches! But... :(

Hello!

Right now I am currently raising a 6 month old beardie named bandit! I got him for christmas but dang I think I've spent close to $150 on crickets already! So I came to my mom and asked her if I could start breeding Dubai roaches and she was fine with it. But then came my dad, I asked him and once he heard the word roach he turned me down immediatly. So now I'm stuck not knowing what to do and still spending alot of money on this. So any help will be appreciated thanks.

Are you buying the crickets in bulk to save money? The roaches are easier to keep and are much hardier but if they aren't allowed in the house, then they aren't allowed. You could try offering black soldier fly larvae and silk worms in conjunction with the crickets so you don't go through as many (added bonus of a healthier, varied diet) but they might wind up adding to the cost.

Bandit still has some growth spurts left at his age so will still go through lots of bugs for a while but should slow down significantly between about 12-18 months old as he approaches full size. That will make a huge difference in your food budget.
