So after much reading, getting the wrong stuff, trying this and that, Loki's home is finally taking shape. I now have the uvb tube mounted inside the viv! It only took 4 days of walking up and down the aisles of Lowe's and Meijer trying to find a safe and effective and still aesthetically pleasing way to mount the fixture. I finally went with black zip ties. I used a small flat head screw driver and hammered three small holes in the metal lip on the tank, fed the ties through and around the fixture and tightened in pace. Seems secure, looks nice, and Loki finally has the right lighting. Still working on my basking loft, but I think I'm about to give up and buy one from pet mountain.....it will be much cheaper and faster that way. Loki's viv is quite bare. ( I threw everything away that came with her) so now we have the important factors taken care of we can work on fun stuff. Her substrate is finally right too....after playsand, I wanted tobtry draw liner, but I bought the adhesive kind and so we've been stuck with paper towels. A nightmare when feeding crickets to a liitle madam who refuses to eat outside her viv. I now have non adhesive shelf liner and I can't imagine why the don't sell this stuff in pet stores!!!
In other news; Loki finally ate some salad!! After days and days of putting in there and having it ignored; she has now started eating from her bowl daily!! Fantastic news!! I had been keeping it simple, and just offering dandelion greens everyday, so I added some yellow squash today and she went through and picked it all out and ate it. Maybe she not going to be such a carnivore afterall!!
Her vet appointment is Friday. Im pretty certain she has parasites. Her poop is smelly and watery. Hopefully once we get that cleared up, she will be a happy, healthy dragon!

Yay for getting the set up right! Sounds like you came up with a good solution for mounting the UVB inside the viv. I know a lot of people end up using zip ties in one way or another. They are very versatile!

As for the non-adhesive shelf liner, I am right there with you! That stuff is miraculous. I can never say enough good stuff about using it as your substrate, because it really is just so perfect. Sooooo easy to spot clean. So easy to cut to size (cutting tile always intimidated me). So easy to remove for a deep clean. So cheap. And it's disposable!

Yay for eating the veggies!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
