Richard's viv has a great piece of driftwood that is the perfect height for basking, but his claws are so flat from the tile floor that he has trouble gripping it and feeling secure. When he's on that log he slides on his belly like a snake, but on the others he trots around normally. How can I "roughen" it up to give him more confidence on it without causing splinters? Or could I wrap it in something so he'd walk on it more easily?

You could wrap some rope or hemp around it, that would probably be the easiest. Otherwise maybe carve some grooves with a chisel or some other type of carving tool and sand the edges? I've got the same problem with my new piece of driftwood and plan on buying some thick hemp and hot gluing it in strips where my boy needs the traction.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
