I was just wondering why people prefer crix over locust, or at least they are def a more common staple! I'm asking as I prefer locust because they seem to be meatier, and grow larger, and also they dont have the rancid smell crix get lol! But I obviously want what is best for my boys, so would like you opinions please x

I think crickets are just cheaper so thats why they're a more popular choice. I feed mine locusts as a staple as she won't touch crickets anymore.

mine will only eat locusts now as have gone off crickets also, i tend to get mine from Livefood.co.uk but I think for variety then ricks has more selection of different worms and such.

Never had a problem with Livefood, all good and alive when they arrive.

I order from there as well, I find him very helpful and as you said the quality is great, mine never die, unlike places from ebay i used to order . They seemed to die right away..

livefood wherehouse is mint ( u.k) and to be honest i feel that crickets although smelly at times far out weigh locust although mine get both. My crickets get fed on a good range goldfish food flakes. you will find it is demolished in seconds and gut loads with an amazing amount of nutrition really fast. locos are picky eater and mostly eat greens so less nutrition value. one of my girls is nearly 800gs so it must be working. up to you tho mate. to stop them smelling use flakes for a couple of days and then greens , only a few tho as it starts to smell if you put to much in, also clean them out twice a week and put fresh egg boxs in....

Yea they don't sell locusts in the US as a feeder for fear of starting a plague lol. I actually prefer anything but crickets, they smell horribly, they die alot(out of every 1000 I bought maybe 700 survived to be eaten), and the noise! :banghead:

Lokies have taken over in our house... Moe will eat maybe 2-3 crix then turn his nose up literally at them. Marley will eat about 15 then either walk off or take them from me then drop them for me to chase round her viv... little madam!

I buy ours from livefoods uk. They've been golden and the couple of times i had calciworms turn up dead they replaced them free of charge. I usually trade order them so it works out to about £1.50 a box instead of the £2 odd i was paying from the petshop.

Waxies, Morios, Lokies and the odd box of crix nom nom lol

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
