Live food make him CRAZY?

I've always noticed that my dragon get a little hyper when he gets live food, especially worms. It seems like "the hunt" excites him and then he runs around looking for more worms. He also has a habit of going over to the one side of his tank where he can look down into my box turtle's enclosure and scratching and banging on the glass... I suspect he wants to check if she got any extra worms  . But generally speaking, my dragon is pretty laid back and has always been this way. Now, he is 2 1/2 years old and I am pretty used to his behavior. last night, my husband gave him a few superworms around bed time and he FLIPPED out. He ran around like crazy banging his face into the glass, jumping on his terrarium decorations, running circles around his 40 gallon breeder tank, his beard was't black though, maybe SLIGHTLY grey, but he is a translucent and I have noticed that his beard colors easily. I took him out and held him and he seemed to calm down, but when I put him back he started right back up. He even continued after lights out, which I have NEVER seen. I could hear him scratching and banging itno things for atleast a half hour after the room was pitch black. It kind of freaked me out, I was afraid he might hurt himself! Anyone else have this experience?

Sounds like a worm loving dragon. Has he always been this way with worms? My Nim goes a little crazy when I have bugs. Not as crazy as yours, but crazy still. He is probably just wanting all those worms. I heard that beardies can get addicted to super worms. Maybe your guy is addicted. :D

He's always been a little crazy for worms, but this was nuttier than I have ever seen him. Sometimes he gets worked up and will run back and forth for a little bit, trying to check out what Gherkin (the turtle) got or trying to beg another worm off of me, but the other night he just did NOT stop, I was actually a little nervous he would hurt himself banging his face into the glass and he has never carried on after lights out. He did have a poop the next morning so maybe he was working that out, he does seem to get more active just before a bowel movement too, I think maybe the activity helps to move his bowels.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
