When we got Sonic and Shadow, Shadow was the evil man trying to do what he wished with Sonic and the poor girl wasl ittle miss "I give up" We separated them and sonic was getting used to being without the "terror" known as Shadow. She is LOVING it.

Fast forward to today: I get them ready to go for their Bath. They take it together and I make sure Shadow leaves Sonic Alone. Well Today, Little miss Sonic was the Terror in the Bath Tub..... They both do their relaxing for about 10 minutes. Then I rub Sonic's belly some and she lets out a few "toots" before finally going potty... Shadow gets his little rub down for as long as he lets me and then does his own potty ritual... Trying to run up the side of the tub as he goes.. It is soo funny to watch.. ANYWAY... after they are both done, out of nowhere, Sonic mounts Shadow and Holds his Head Under the water!! She watched him until he was not touching the bottom and she got ontop of him! She put both her front legs on his head and PUSHED! I WISH I had a camera to catch that but I was more concerned with the Fact the Shadow was completely submerged under the water... I got her off, and Shadow RAN up my arm.. "save me mom!!!" So I finished laughing.. Dried them off, gave them some salad and got them back in their tanks...

Ohhh.... She is turning into a tough cookie!!! :whip:

Now IF that happens again, as I am sure it will.. How well do they fare with being completely under the water? He actually just sat there. Until I pushed her off and then he went nuts and ran up my arm.

That's hilarious. It got me to thinking...is it generally OK to bathe juvies of the opposite sex together? I've been giving them separate baths and cleaning out the tote between. I'm pretty meticulous with enclosure cleaning, but still I think separate baths can help to prevent any contagion if one should take a turn for the worst. Sure would be a lot less work to bathe them together. These 2 have been in separate enclosures for a few months now.

In the spirit of this thread and this sub-forum, I'll add a bath time story of my own. My 5 month old little girl has generally disliked bath time until recently. The last 2 times in her watery tote she has been kicking water up over her back and scooting around on her tummy in obvious glee. It has been so fun to watch that I hate having to take her out when a brown torpedo jettisons out her backside.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
